My experience of a laminate floor-laying job with Kevin and his team was excellent. He was thorough in his pre-
and post mortem, was very communicative with me through out the job and was very accommodating to 'changing circumstances' I incurred. The finished result was very good indeed, so I would thoroughly recommend Xpressworkforce to others. In fact I have :)

Finding a kitchen fitter

Installing new units is a great way to revitalise your kitchen and add value to your property. To make sure they are fitted correctly, you will need a top quality local kitchen fitter: not only will they be able to install your new units quickly and efficiently, but they will also be used to dealing with common problems that arise. If you want to make sure your kitchen units are installed perfectly, get a kitchen fitter in for the job!

The Plentific website is dedicated to helping you find the best local tradesmen for your job. As one of the fastest growing home improvement service marketplaces around, Plentific can quickly (and freely) generate a bespoke list of kitchen fitters in your local area that offer the skills you need for your project. By hiring a ‘verified’ Pro, you can also gain protection from the Plentific Guarantee, an industry-unique insurance policy that helps to ensure that customers have their projects completed to a high standard.

What does a kitchen fitter do?

A kitchen fitter is a tradesman that can make sure your new kitchen units are correctly sized and fitted. They will be able to create and follow technical drawings relating to the structure of your new kitchen and will be able to overcome potential problems, such as inconveniently placed pipes or cables. Kitchen fitters will also have a good enough knowledge of building regulations to advise you if you ever require planning permission or an additional specialist.
Another useful service that kitchen fitters can provide is ripping out and disposing of your old units for you. While they should be happy to do this, you may well be able to save money on your quote by getting rid of the old units yourself, so be sure to ask!

What do you need to think about when finding a kitchen fitter?

It is important to check the experience and qualifications of your local kitchen fitter candidates. Your tradesman may have worked on similar kitchens in the past, or they may specialise in the type of designs or fittings you are looking for. They should also have pictures of finished jobs for you to inspect, along with details for their previous clientele.
Ensure that you take the time to ask your potential hires for proof of their qualifications. Your local kitchen fitter may have undertaken an apprenticeship or industry course, or may be part of a national tradesmen’s organisation, such as the British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom Installation (BiKBBI).

Certain tradesmen may be willing to offer a free home assessment for their prospective clients, so take advantage of this if you can. An assessment will also highlight any additional tasks that need to be done. Speaking of additional tasks, ensure that you ask for a price breakdown when your potential hire gives you a quote: you may spot a job that you can do yourself in order to save money!

When choosing a kitchen fitter you should make sure they are adequately covered for accidental damage and liabilities. After investing in a new kitchen, you do not want to have to pay to cover anything broken by an unprotected kitchen fitter. You should also make sure that they have a policy in place for if you are unsatisfied with their finished work. For certain appliances, such as gas cookers, the kitchen fitter fitting it may also offer a warranty for repairs.

How much does a kitchen fitter cost?

Your quotes will depend on the size of the kitchen and how simple it will be to fit. Certain designs may need someone to tile or remove tiles from your wall, replace worktops or fit gas appliances. Before choosing your tradesman, you can ask to get a free assessment of your kitchen, which can let you know how much work is necessary on top of the fitting or installation. You may be able to find certain jobs that you can do yourself to save money.
Remember when discussing price that you should never hire a tradesman based on a verbal estimate. Ask them to give you your quote in writing: if you cannot or are simply unwilling to, it may be that they are planning to do a poor job and then simply leave with the money.

Hi, I need someone to install an Ikea kitchen. It is largely the same layout as before. Diagrams are attached

We have had a bad experience fitting a kitchen and need an excellent kitchen-fitter who cares about his craft and
can bring the kitchen to completion. The following items need to be completed: - plumbing in and/or connecting of washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, cooker, chimney hood and plinth heater (some are partially complete and others not started) - also to include integrating/fitting/correcting panels where relevant and working out electrics - fitting of insinkerator and plumbing for sink waste - tiling of splashback area (http://www.winchestertiles.com/details?product=W.VTO2025) and finishing painting of the wall - putting up of six open shelves - fitting cornices on tops of units - fitting radiator along far or back wall - sealing the sink to make it watertight - various improvements such as shifting out the worktop, levelling/cleaning up out of line panels/plinths/handles etc. Depending on cost, we may or may not want the fitter to deconstruct part of the kitchen in order to replaster the wall behind the worktop, as it is currently not as straight as it should be, but this is not vital As the kitchen is not currently usable, this is a very high priority. Please ensure you have positive references and/or a track record, and availability in the next ten days - ideally this weekend. Photographs are available on request.
